Photo of the Day (NSFW)

Body stockings are my favorite lingerie for when I'm feeling lazy (which is most of the time.) I can throw this on with a pair of heels and call it good.  Enjoy my boobs!

Design and Function

Icicles No. 32 is the perfect dildo for glass collectors and glass newbies alike. It's multifunctional and versatile design makes it hard for me to even come up with cons for this toy. Seriously, I have a total heart-on for this toy.

Icicles No. 32 size comparison

Call me a sucker, but if you make a toy really cute, I'm bound to lust after it. I didn't expect it to become such a staple in my collection. I almost thought it was too pretty to be functional, but boy was I wrong!

The whole toy itself is 9 inches long. The curved shaft has an insert-able length of 6 inches. It features 5 bulges or 'beads' that graduate in size up to the flared, heart shaped handle. At the widest point, the circumference is about 4 1/4 inches, or a diameter of 1 1/4 inches. You know what this all adds up to in my book?

The Perfect Anal Toy.

5 bugles that graduate in size
No really, I am being 100% honest- this is my favorite anal toy. To clarify, I haven't had much luck the past in this department. I tend to pick out anal toys that are either too big or too small. I have no clue what the problem was, but I was hitting dud after dud. It was beginning to turn me off to anal play, and that in turn, bummed my partner out. (Pun totally intended, I am so sorry.) Was it Bad research? Impulse buys? Picky bum? Combination of all three? Who knows, and honestly at this point, who cares! We're past that stage in my life now. Let's hope I never turn back.

This is now my go to toy for anal play. Maybe it's the combination of the smooth glass and the perfectly graduated beads that has me grabbing for this toy time and time again. Maybe it's the fact that I can easily sterilize it and use it for vaginal insertion as well? Maybe it's because it's so darn cute and reminds me of a lollipop? Do I sound embarrassingly enthusiastic about this dildo yet? Because that's how I feel.

An-y-way

Curved shaft for G-spot stimulation
I've talked up the anal functionality of this toy. Now let me tell you about the G-spot stimulation. My G-spot is still somewhat new territory for me. I know where my own G-spot is at, but my partner sometimes has a hard time locating it, especially with toys. Even with toys that are curved, it's either a hit or miss. Luckily, with Icicles No. 32, it's always a hit. As in, hitting my G-spot perfectly. Ah, yes. Right there. No fumbling around trying to locate it. It pretty much finds itself. Of course, all people are shaped differently so this may not be as much of a hit for you, but that's my personal experience.

This toy is great for masturbation or using with your partner(s). The handle makes insertion and thrusting easy. If you own glass toys, you know how easy it can be to loose grip when things get wet and slippery. The size on the handle on this toy helps with that.

Material Safety, Care and Specifications

This toy is made out of Borosilicate glass. Ever heard of Pyrex? It's basically the same stuff. Borosilicate glass is resistant to thermal shock, making it less likely to shatter from temperature changes than other glasses. On top of that, it's shatter resistant, so if it takes a serious drop, it's not going to shatter into a million pieces.

If you're new to glass toys, let me give you a quick run down on why this is one of my favorite materials:
  • It's non porous. In a perfect world, all toys would be non porous. This basically means it will not hold or trap bacteria. Your toy won't turn into a breeding ground for hidden bacteria to feast on. This is always a plus.
  • It's hypoallergenic, great for those with allergy concerns.
  • Safe to use with any lube you prefer. Oil and silicone based lubes aren't a problem. (Though you won't need a lot of lube with this toy. Start off with a little bit and work your way up if you need to.)
  • Can be sterilized. You can boil glass toys to sterilize them between partners or between anal and vaginal insertion.
  • Can be used for temperature play. Place it in warm or cold water to change things up!

The packaging states that this piece is hand blown and when cared for properly, can last up to a lifetime. So what's proper care you ask? It's actually pretty simple and I only have one warning for you:
No rapid temperature changes. Yes, I said you could boil this toy to sterilize it, and now I'm telling you to avoid rapid temperature changes. Here's the key to boiling your toys- start off with putting it in cold water, then bring it to a slow boil. Don't crank the heat up to high. Keep it at a medium to medium low, the lowest possible setting that will get the water boiling. If you're really paranoid, you can even lay a cloth in the pot first so there is not contact between the pot and the toy.

You don't have to boil your toys if you're not comfortable with it. A good wash with antibacterial soap and warm water works fine. You could even use toy wipes, if you're into that kind of thing. I personally prefer to boil mine because I like to use it for both vaginal and anal insertion.

Packaging

Pipedream does a fantastic job with the packaging on their Icicles line. They come in a printed cardboard box that features a photo of the toy on the magnetic door. The magnetic door opens to reveal the actual toy inside. The toy is surrounded by thick foam, which is why I kept my box for storage. It's a bit bulky, so if you don't have the room for it, I'd suggest purchasing a padded pouch, since this toy does not come with one. The box is not very discreet because of the photo on the front, but I still think it's good for gift giving.

Introductions

Hello there, and welcome to my bedroom blog.

This is my first post and my first attempt at blogging. I've toyed with the idea for a while now, and recently came to the conclusion that I'm wasting time not going for it. I knew I'd eventually end up here, but I was delaying the inevitable. Blogging is a lot of hard work and I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to the technical side of it, but I'm sure I'll get there. I've got to start somewhere, so here we are.

Anyway, I guess what I'm getting at is- please excuse me while this sucks. I've been gathering information from a few of my favorite bloggers on how to not suck at blogging. Hopefully that helps makes my newbie blog a little bit more bearable.

The plan here is to give me a platform to establish my voice and place in the blogging world. More specifically, in the sex blogging world. I hope to bring you candid and entertaining sex toy reviews, sex and relationship advice and ideas, and discussions on kinks, fetishes, and BDSM, in a sex positive environment where everyone can feel welcome.

I'm open to advice, constructive criticisms or any ideas you may have for me. Please don't hesitate to contact me via comment or e-mail at thebedroomkitten@gmail.com.

Thanks for reading. I look forward to running this blog and getting to know you!
